Becca (they/them) is a first-generation Raizal and New Afrikan from California. A recent graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Africana Studies, Becca has a background in community organizing and a deep commitment to holistic health. Their passions include nature, community empowerment, and the creation of holistic medicine.

For the past five years, Becca has been dedicated to farming with a focus on food sovereignty and has been practicing herbalism for six years. They are the owner of Bantum Healing Apothecary, where they provide herbal remedies grounded in ancestral knowledge.

In their work with Peoples Programs Organization, Becca serves as an org member, farm teammate, and co-founder of the farms apothecary team. As well as supporting some of the other decolonization programs: Grocery, Peoples Breakfast Program, and the Clinic via the Street Med Team. They also helped launch a community guerrilla garden in West Oakland in 2020 to foster local food sovereignty. Additionally, Becca works with the Fannie Lou Hamer Farm Team at UC Berkeley, furthering their commitment to community-driven agriculture.

Becca is also known for their laid-back, yet highly organized energy, blending the best of both worlds. A proud Virgo, they bring a natural sense of order and attention to detail to everything they do, whether it's running their apothecary or coordinating community projects. But despite their Virgo tendencies, Becca has an incredibly chill vibe—always able to keep things relaxed and fun, even during the busiest of times. They have a great sense of humor and an infectious energy that makes them a joy to be around, effortlessly balancing work and play while keeping things grounded. Whether they’re working on the farm, crafting herbal remedies, or just hanging out with friends, Becca’s positive and uplifting spirit never fails to leave a lasting impression. Lastly they’d like to say shoutout to their ancestors and… FREE THE PEOPLE!! FREE THE LAND!!!!!
